Notes: Zoey, 4 year old intact female Pit Bull mix, weighing 60 lbs. She was surrendered to Lee County Animal Hospital a few months ago along with 3 other siblings due to her owner having a terminal illness rendering her unable to care for her pets. Zoey was facing euthanasia with the owner heartbreakingly having no other options.
Zoey tested positive for heartworms and has undergone treatment as well as started on Credelio Quattro, which is used for heartworm prevention, as well as flea and tick prevention and general dewormer. She has been vaccinated for Rabies (1 year) and a combination vaccine with distemper, parvovirus, parainfluenza, adenovirus, leptospirosis and coronavirus included. Despite having a heartworm, Zoey is very energetic, playful, and healthy otherwise. She is very affectionate and deserves a good life with family of her own. Zoey is not used to being kenneled and is very stressed in the clinic environment. She may need an adjustment period with a new dog. We do not want her to risk euthanasia again and would prefer to keep her out of the shelter. Rescues can text 276.202.1198. Interested adopters can call 276-346-3750 or email lcah.reception@gmail.com
